Advances in Spinal Cord Injury Research Symposium

Spinal Cord Researchers from across the globe gathered at the 2018 Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Advances in Research Symposium at New Jersey Medical School. Hosted by SCI Neurosurgeon, Robert Heary, M.D., 6 keynote speakers discussed their most recent findings. Members from our lab actively engaged in a forum, adding somatosensory touch to topics such as clinical comorbidity, neuroimmunity, matrix and metalloproteinases (MMPs), and robot training.

On Tuesday, May 8th graduating students from the Keck Center of Collaborative Neuroscience were honored. Undergraduate seniors from our very own lab - Emily Behan and Andrea Martinez - were honored and each gave speeches after being introduced by Dr. Victoria Abraira. Thank you for all if the hard work that you do, and best of luck to your future endeavers!

On May 10, faculty and graduating students were invited to the Cell Biology and Neuroscience Graduation Banquet in the Rutgers Life Sciences Building Foyer. Students, including members of our lab, each recieved engraved medallions for their years of devotion to neuroscience. Selected students were honored for academic excellence.

About Us

The Abraira Lab is a collaborative neuroscientific endeavor to understand the somatosensory framework of touch. Our lab operates within the W.M. Keck Center of Collaborative Neuroscience at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey. We are open to interested post-doctoral, graduate, and undergraduate researchers willing to explore the body's largest perceptive sense.
